Miyauchi explained that the current technology of Japanese machinery has raised the specification of standard products from 30mW to 45mW. He pointed out that compared with mercury lamp competition, UV LED, of course, is not as efficient as UV mercury lamp tube, but UV LED reaction speed is fast, do not need a heat engine, so the overall efficiency of the device is of course better, as long as the power can be improved in the future, the application range will be broader.

2. Asahi chemical: banning mercury lamps in 2020 will drive UVC LED business opportunities

What's more, UV LED, with impact resistance, also because the size of the lamp is not as straight as the UV lamp, so it saves the space inside the device, has a higher degree of freedom in product design, and innovative collocation application clever.


For voltage, high voltage alternating current is not required either, as long as direct current of 6 to 12 volts is used, and current can be reduced from 0.5 to 2 amperes to as little as 0.02 to 0.3a.


There are also advantages in thermal design. There is no large amount of high thermal radiation of mercury lamp. The foundation of heat dissipation can be achieved in the material.


Asahi chemical has made considerable progress in material science and industry achievements. Their 2-inch AIN single crystal substrate can improve the high force of UV LED based on absorption rate and other factors when used together with UV LED.

3. The mature UV LED market will take off rapidly
